I recently posted some great recipes for oat based granola and the kids are loving their new healthy cereal cupboard. I’ve now extended this repertoire to my version of ‘Fruit and Fibre’, which was my daily breakfast before my ‘food epiphany’. I’ve come across a couple of brands of organic spelt flakes (one which has just a touch of added honey and barley malt and one completely plain) – all you need to do is add the ingredients of your choice.
As with the oat granola, this is not an everyday breakfast that I would recommend if you are trying to lose or maintain your weight, due to the high carbohydrate and low protein content but it’s a good one for kids, an occasional treat or after a workout.
